Damerham 2013
Posted on 10th August 2013
Plans for this summer’s fieldwork are well-advanced. We intend to be in the field for much of August, with a busy programme involving excavation, geophysical survey, fieldwalking and anything else we have time for. More information will be posted here soon.2010 Fieldwork
Posted on 2nd July 2010
We'll be returning to Damerham later this summer for more fieldwork. Details will appear here in due course. We'll be continuing with the geophysical surveys, but we'll also be undertaking some intensive fieldwalking (systematic collection of artefacts brought to the surface by the plough); some earthwork survey; and we'll be opening our first excavation trenches. The excavations will be quite small in scope this year - we're concentrating on testing the potential of some of the sites first. Obviously, this will also give us an idea of the logistical and practical issues involved, and help us plan future fieldwork.
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far. We're looing forward to meeting up with you in August/September and putting you to work.
